The Histopathology lab ISTOTYPOS IKE was founded in 2014, in Thessaloniki, by Dimosthenis Miliaras, MD specialized in Histopathology with experience of over 29 years in the field, and Xeni Miliara, MRes, PhD cancer biologist at Imperial College London, with the vision to combine traditional pathology and molecular diagnostics .

The lab is installed on the ground floor of private-owned premises and is next to the general hospital “General Clinic of Thessaloniki”. We use the latest equipment for tissue processing, and we deliver a full range of histological examinations. In this framework, we perform immunohistochemical investigations for prognostic and predictive markers of breast cancer, and other solid tumors as well.

We are constantly working and innovating to ensure our scientific knowledge, methodologies and equipment are cutting edge, and to continuously improve our services, while we offer competitive prices on high diagnostic credibility.

We are especially concerned about the safe management of biological material, and we follow all steps of tissue sample handling and processing using barcode labelling. Our lab has been accredited by the international standard ISO 15189 for medical laboratories and, we also participate in two programs of external quality control assessment; UK NEQAS for our histochemical and immunohistochemical stains, and the Lab Quality of Finland for our diagnostic skills.
